In Wisconsin Frederick met and married Isabella Krupp, daughter of Joseph and Catharine. The couple's first child, Maria Applonia, was born 2 Feb 1874 in Bay View, Milwaukee county.

Sometime after 1905 daughter Mary Ann married Oscar Nielson.

Frederick died 9 May 1925 in Milwaukee and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Racine.
The 1930 Federal Census has Isabelle, widowed, and Julia, 36, bill clerk for railroad. They are living at 623 Mineral Street in a three family house, paying rent of $30 per month.
By 1940 Federal Census Isabelle, 84, widowed, born Germany, has moved in with son Theodore J., 64, born Wisconsin, molder at factory; his wife Rose, 55, born Illinois; and their son Marvin, 23, born Wisconsin, machine hand at roofing factory. They are living at 2546 S. Burrel (the lower of a two family house.)
Isabella died 16 Sep 1941 in Racine and is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Racine.
