Andrew Thompson Newmarch 1855-1921

Andrew Thompson Newmarch was born 27 Jul 1855 in Almira, Ontario, Canada. He was the second of six children born to James Newmarch and Melissa Milks.

Mother Melissa died 23 Oct 1907 in Paradise, Grand Traverse county.

The Grand Traverse Herald and Traverse Bay Eagle of 25 Dec 1913 tells of Andrew going to Traverse City on Monday, the 22nd. On Wednesday the 24th, Andrew, Margaret and Cecil went into Kingsley to do some Christmas shopping. On Saturday, the 20th Cecil had friends over for her 13th birthday.

Andrew Thompson Newmarch died 11 Jun 1921 in Paradise township, Grand Traverse, Michigan. His birth is given as 27 Jul 1855 in Canada, son of James Newmarch, born England, and Melissa Milks, born Canada. Cause of death is paraplysis following apoplexy [stroke]. Informant was wife Margaret, burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

  1. I grew up near Eardley, and Melissa (Milks) Newmarch is my grandfather's grandfather's younger sister.
    I'm curious, how is Andrew connected to Almira Ontario? It's 250 miles from Eardley.
